Will my cards come with envelopes?

Yes, all card orders include 24lb white envelopes.

What type of paper will my cards be printed on?

Our products are printed only on premium cardstock.  Cardstock is heavier / thicker / stiffer than photo paper and gives a more formal and substantial look to your cards.  Little Star Greetings offers three different cardstock papers (not all papers are available for all products):

  • Smooth 100lb Cardstock - A smooth white coated cardstock of 100lb weight and 12 pt thickness.   This is our standard cardstock for photo card products (Photo birth announcements, photo wedding invitations, photo baptism/birthday invitaitons, photo holiday cards), and is SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiave) certified.
  • Matte 100% Recycled Cardstock - An uncoated cardstock of 100lb weight and 11.5 pt thickness.   This cardstock is not quite as stiff as the Smooth 100lb cardstock but is heavier/thicker than photo paper and is made with 100% postconsumer waste recycled fibres, and is FSC certified.  This cardstock is availabe as an option for all of our photo card products.  Please note because of the matte, uncoated finish of this paper, your photos may not print quite as smoothly as they do on the Smooth 100lb cardstock or Photo paper; however, good quality photos look excellent on all paper types.
  • Luxury Matte Recycled 15pt Cardstock - The cream of the crop, this heavy 110lb cardstock is uncoated with a matte finish and extra thick at a 15 pt caliper.   It is also 100% recycled, and beautiful to look at and to touch.   This paper is our standard for non-photo invitations, including non-photo wedding invitations (because of its thickness, it does not print photos as well as our other cardstock options, so it is reserved for designs without photos).

What resolution should my photos be?

In order to ensure an excellent print quality for your final product, we recommend that your photos be a minimum of 1800 by 1200 pixels. All photos should be in jpeg format. Scanned photos should be scanned at a resolution of at least 300 dpi. If for any reason, we feel your photo quality is not suitable, we will notify you and give you the option of submitting alternate photos.

Can you convert my colour photos to black and white or sepia?

Absolutely.  If you would like your photos converted to black and white or sepia, please note this in the Comments section of your order, and our designer will professionally convert the photo(s) and provide an email proof for your approval prior to printing.

What kinds of photo editing are included in my order?

 Where necessary, we will brighten, adjust contrast or colour levels, and sharpen your photos to ensure optimal printing results.   Colour photos may be professionally converted to black and white or sepia, and we will perform other minor edits to your photos on request.   Please note that extensive photo editing (ie. background removal, removal of objects, extensive blemish removal, etc.) are not included in our services.

Can I submit professional photos for my order?

Yes – we love working with professional photographs, but you must have written permission or a copyright release from your photographer in order to use photos taken by him or her. We do not under any circumstances, accept scanned professional photos – you must obtain the full resolution digital images from your photographer and submit those in order for us to use them.

Will I receive a preview or a proof of my design prior to printing?

Our website is equipped with powerful personalization and preview software, which allows you to add your own text and/or photos to any product and view a live preview of your design online.   When you have finished personalizing your design, you will be asked to initial it to approve it for printing.   Please note that a professional designer reviews each and every order and may make minor changes (ie. text alignment, photo enhancement, etc.) to ensure optimal printing.    If you would like to view a final proof before your order is printed, please note this in the Comments section of your order personalization and a proof will be emailed to you for approval before the order is printed.  

Can I request changes to the designs available online?

Yes, we are happy to accommodate your requests for customization of any design, at no additional charge. You may request changes to colours, fonts, layout, etc. If you have any specific design requests, please make of note of them when you personalize and preview your order.  If changes are requested, a proof with these changes will be emailed to you for your approval prior to printing.


How long will it take to receive my order?

With STANDARD processing & STANDARD shipping, you can expect your order in 6-9 business days.
With STANDARD processing & XPRESSPOST shipping, you can expect your order in 4-6 business days total.
With RUSH processing & XPRESSPOST shipping, you can expect your order in 2-4 business days.

***Please note*** The turnaround times noted above are based an order placed using our online personalization/preview software (adding your own photos, text etc.) and for which no alterations are needed prior to printing.  If there are issues with your order which must be corrected prior to prinitng (eg. text extending past the edge of the design, poor photo quality, etc.) OR if you submit any special requests with your order which require a designer's time and expertise, please allow TWO BUSINESS DAYS for our designers to make any necessary changes and provide you with a proof via email.   In cases in which an email proof is required, your order will not print until we receive your approval.
